Does the pole spin in pole dancing? – Pole Dance Choreography Ariana Grande

If you want to learn pole dancing, start on the floor. But before you start, get to know how it feels to pole dance on an upside-down pole. It should feel a lot like dancing on a vertical pole with no bottom! (See How to Make an Off-Ground Pole Dance Dance.) The “off ground” part gives you a foundation to move into the pole dance.

Now, start off from the floor. Start on your hands and knees and turn around to the side of the pole to the opposite side. (See How to Get Started in Pole Dancing.)

When you stand up, rotate in your feet about 45 degrees to the side so you’re spinning toward your partner and the ground.

Your partner should get on top of the pole as you spin while they face away from you.

Keep rotating in your feet, but you’ll need to keep your hands in your lap. If you’re spinning backwards, you won’t be able to touch your partner. Try a trick from “Reverse Pole Dancing,” which works for you: Let your partner spin so you keep rotating in your feet, but as she spins, tilt your legs forward and your hands to the side. At the same time, keep your legs back and lean forward, keeping your arms straight! This will create a balance that will put your partner’s body center-stage and help give some balance to your own body.
