There are many different ways to make your own Dog Food, it’s more than just taking your standard Recipe, we highly suggest going for a new way. We love the new, fresh flavours that this new technology has delivered. It’s now just a matter of choosing which food is best for your dog. There are a number of dog food recipes available which have helped us find the best Dog Food for our dogs, just add about 1% of your dog’s daily protein intake to your dog’s daily ration.
There’s no need to buy or cook it yourself as it’s all here online, or you can find many brands on the main food website or via the major food wholesalers such as Hagerty, Humble and Iams.
Our recommendation, and what we use for our dog food, is a recipe that you can find on the website www.dogfoods.co.uk or in the following ingredients pages –
Chicken & Rice
1/2 cup Chicken – chopped into bits
2 cups of rice (I use brown rice, but white or golden rice may suit your dog, just watch out you do not cook this too long, it’s best to put in a bowl/staircase for a few minutes before serving)
1/2 tablespoon of chopped garlic
Salt to taste
Pepitas to season (optional)
1/2 tablespoon of red pepper flakes or 1 tsp of dried chopped or ground pepper
Chicken & Rice – Method 1
Step 1: Wash and cut chicken into pieces which then can be placed in a large pot of boiling water.
Step 2: Once boiling, remove chicken from water and place on a plate or in a large mixing bowl.
Step 3: Heat 3 tbsp of olive oil, and add in garlic and sauteed red pepper flakes and add this mixture to the chicken.
Step 4: Stir and add in the chicken, water and rice, and turn heat to low and simmer for about 1 hour. Chicken is cooked and ready to serve.
Note: You may want to cook your chicken in several batches and store in a tight container.
Chickens & Rice – Method 2
Step 1: Wash and cut chicken into pieces which then can be placed in a pot of boiling water
Step 2: Keep on boiling, keep stirring, and add in the chicken, water and rice, and cook at low heat for about 1 hour
