A) Drawing for fun – The main purpose of drawing, you have to draw what you like, if you like to be a drawing hobbyist. Drawing is your way to express yourself. So, if you like to do anything art-related, this is the way to do it in the future, and as a side-note, it can be a great idea to draw an image of you to yourself, or what you like to do at the moment. If you want to draw animals, you have to draw what you like to do. If you don’t like animals, don’t draw them. If you don’t want to draw animals, don’t even bother drawing them.
B) Drawing for work, and when it’s required or for some reason you really like a certain idea or artist, you can draw whatever you want.
It’s good to have practice with both.
2b) A word to the wise, make sure you don’t spend all time on drawing, especially if you have other interests other than drawing.
I can only recommend you spend a lot of time practicing with drawing before it actually comes into your mind, and then put all your energy in writing and working on your art. But, in addition, don’t get distracted by other activities. Keep your eyes on your art and you’ll become better in all aspects. In order not to look a little bored, I recommend you to practice drawing for about 1-2 weeks for a beginner or 2 weeks for an intermediate. But always keep your art focused on drawing and focus on drawing at least 10-12 hours a day.
I recommend that when you first start drawing or writing, just do a short practice with a brush to try to build up your muscles. This will help your concentration and learning of drawing. Try to keep it as short as possible. Then add a piece of paper to the pen to sketch at some point, make your drawing faster. After you learn how to improve your drawing, you can make drawings that take you several or even several hours to complete. It will increase your motivation even faster.
3.) Have fun!
This is one of my favorite things about art. If you don’t have fun doing what you like doing, you will not learn art, or you might get lost in art for long times, and eventually you will stop doing it and your mind will have become filled with your own thoughts.
