Dann: For me, piano is a piano, and there’s a lot of reasons why I put it in the piano. It’s the sound is very clear and I like the sound of that. That’s one of the two reasons why I don’t add keyboard players. I can only add it for a limited period, and I don’t want to bring something out that’s not right for that song. It makes more sense to have one player doing the piano, like you have on the songs “Take a Look,” “What’s Up Now,” “Ain’t No Sunshine,” or any other piano songs.
Do you ever switch the keys on the piano because you want to change the timbre? Like you did on the last track?
Dann: No, as I’m saying, on this one I did that. There are other things that have taken place so that it wouldn’t have been necessary. Maybe it was just a little bit more challenging or I had less energy that way. [Laughs]
Ahead of Monday’s U.S. Open Cup semi-final series between Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers, Sounders TV has released a full broadcast schedule for this weekend’s MLS matchup between the LA Galaxy and Colorado Rapids.
The match, which will kick off at 5 p.m. PT on FS1, will be televised on both national TV and UniMas and will also be available to stream online in the United States on SoundersTV.tv from just $5 a month.
The broadcast will also feature a host of local, national and international personalities, from Sounders legends Brian McBride and Greg Vanney to Sounders analyst Kenny Cooper and a return appearance by Sounders legend Frank Yallop.
The remaining games of the 2016-17 U.S. Open Cup have also been listed in detail. There are 18 games in total, meaning only 14 will be made available for free for U.S. Open Cup coverage on Monday.
The first two matches have featured a variety of storylines, the most notable of which has centered around the team’s goalkeepers. After a series of poor performances in the first half of the season, Sounders FC keeper Stefan Frei came out of retirement for the first time in 2017 and has led the team to two wins out of their five USOC matches against the Portland Timbers, including the 4-1 win that clinched the third-place playoff spot in the Western Conference.
